The Flåm Railway runs 100% on renewable electricity, and has done so since 1947. It is a year-round operation and growing travel numbers in winter help to create year-round operation also for other tourism products in Flåm.

The company has a good relationship with local businesses in Flåm and the Flåm valley, both in terms off providing attractive experience products and ensuring good experiences for guests. To maintain the cultural landscape and maintain good views from the train, an agreement has been signed for annual forest clearing and grazing along the railway line.
